What is a Body Wrap?

A body wrap is a way of detoxifying the body through application of clay or other natural substances and then enclosing the body with fabric to elevate the core body temperature.

Benefits of a Body Wrap Spa Treatment:

The body wrap is known as a detoxifying treatment. It is also used widely for its potential slimming effects (helping the body to lose inches) and for its ability to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

History of the Body Wrap:

In the US, body wraps were initially created as dehydrating body wraps that women used with ace bandages and saran wrap or plastic jogging suits. Currently there are various types of body wraps. One type of body wrap still uses the ace bandages which have been soaked in nutrients. The second type of body wrap involves having nutrients wrapped around the body (with sheets) and then lying on a massage table wrapped in space blankets and a comforter to trap body heat.

Body Wrap  Spa Treatment Training:

Usually some kind of pre-license to touch the body is required to be at a spa, massage therapist license, cosmetology license or aesthetician’s license. However, usually at spa, training is hands-on. You learn how to do body wraps by doing body wraps.

What Happens During a Body Wrap Spa Treatment?

At all the professional spas in Santa Fe, we use the comforter style of body wrapping. You are asked to drape yourself with a towel while the body wrapping mixture is prepared. The wrapping solution is applied by sheet onto the table. You will then lie on the table. Then, the top portion of the body wrap solution is placed on top of you. Once that is done, very quickly (so you’re body temperature doesn’t drop too fast), you are wrapped with several layers of fabric for heat retention. You can stay in a wrap from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Your SpaNomad Body Wrap Spa Treatment:

Body wraps are a wonderful way to do something healthy for your body. The ingredients are all natural. Typically, clients like to nap or just relax during a wrap. In addition, you will get a scalp massage during the body wrap. With body wraps, you control how loose or tight the actual wrap is. There is no added benefit to being wrapped if you psychologically feel uncomfortable (claustrophobic). SpaNomad has numerous ways to ensure body wrap effectiveness while also creating optimum peace of mind. We have done spa body wraps for over ten years.
